HILLINGDON COUNCIL PUBLIC CONSULTATION
NEW NORTHWOOD LOCALLY LISTED BUILDINGS
In our Newsletter dated 17th April 2019 (published on our NVL website on 28th April 2019) we advised that the London Borough of Hillingdon (LBH) intended a public consultation on two points.
(a) Northwood Town Centre Conservation Area
(b) Locally Listed Buildings within Northwood.
We are very pleased to advise that this public consultation (on two aspects of Northwood) has commenced on June 12th 2019, and that it will run until July 24th 2019. It is very important that as many residents as possible write into LBH in support of both aspects. Documentation can be found on this LBH website. https://archive.hillingdon.gov.uk/consultation
(a) The Northwood Town Centre Conservation Area appraisal document consists of 52 pages of well laid out history and architecture of our town. Making a mention in your email/letter to:-
email@example.com of the importance of the architecture along Station Approach would be extremely useful.
(b) There is also the proposed additions of 14 newly Locally Listed Buildings in Northwood on 15 pages of well researched documentation. Stressing the imposing and the architectural significant Coral Building at 54-56 Green Lane (which is one of those to be newly listed under Serial Number No.297) would be particularly valuable. This building dates from c.1925.
Please write to:- firstname.lastname@example.org with your comments, and observations on both of these consultations – even if they are confined to a couple of sentences, although your remarks can of course be much fuller if you wish.
May we finally mention that obtaining local listing for the buildings especially the Coral’s building is a very important step against the proposed TfL re-development scheme for a significant part of Northwood’s town centre Conservation Area presented to Northwood residents in March 2019. Subsequently, TfL have announced a delay to their scheme. We understand a planning Application may be submitted in the Autumn/Winter of 2019?
